Colonial Wig Shop

Powdered Wig and Powder Mask

Visit to Colonial Williamsburg Wig Shop

Over the Christmas holiday, I visited Colonial Williamsburg, VA and met 3 interpreters in the Wig Shop. This was the hairstylist of the times, and this is one of my dream retirement jobs.

I brought back my interpretation of a powder mask for all my brides and clients that use loads of hairspray to guard their faces...When they had their wig powdered before and during a party they would wear a simple wooden mask to protect their face from the powder, then they would dust their shoulders off with a brush.

The wig makers book is also available to look at in the salon:)

Prim Magazine sneak peak...

Peruse the official Winter 2010 issue of Prim Magazine View 150 pgs., or half of the issue. Full issue available to buy both digitally and on newsstands worldwide January 30th.

This is one of my favorite images. I think the dual textures are fur held up to shiny, smooth hair.

I love getting a sneak preview of fashion.

Sarah Seven Bridal

A perfect day for wedding hair...These images were taken on a lazy, but full Sunday morning in Sarah Seven's new studio in NE Portland off of MLK. I couldn't find the address right now, so it might still be under wraps:) But, her space will be open soon to try own wedding dresses or gorgeous pieces for special occasions or everyday. Her flowy fabrics are so romantic, perfect for getting lost in love in our rainy city this Spring.

The papers on the wall are a cyclopedia of birds. Themes you can often find in Sarah's photos are birds and nature to fit her carefree spirit.
